I'm sure you haven't noticed (Ok, so there is no way you could have missed it) but I've been gone for a little while (forever plus one). The thing is, I'm all about the pictures. I learned a long time ago in one of my early geology classes that papers are all about figures. The text is just to explain the figures. I took it to heart.
As you know, we moved. In the move I seem to have lost my card reader for my camera's memory card. Sometime between then and now I should have just bought another, but I could never remember. Today I found an old one, and what do you know, it works. So now I can post again, because I have pics. I've got lots of catching up to do.
Before we moved I took this picture of Bug with her newish cousin. She's crazy about him and apparently he wants to eat her for lunch. In our new house we live one street over from the cousins and it is pretty great.
After we moved in we had a good long run of warm enough for the new pool. Unfortunately we had all kinds of problems with the pool in the beginning. Now that we have a new larger filter for the pump and a Polaris pool sweep it is sparkling and gorgeous. Sadly it's too cool to swim. Bug got to be a pretty good little swimmer. Bitty still needs some work. She'll get there.
Have you ever seen stranger footwear? These are the foot things Bug needs for her new Lyrical Jazz class. They are called Foot Undeez and look just like tiny little men's briefs for you feet. They make it so you can have the traction of bare feet with the suede pad under the ball of the foot in order to execute spins without tearing your skin off. This sounds like a good idea to me, even if they do look funny.
Here they are on her feet. Isn't this a lovely fifth? Also check out the convertible tights. These are tights that can be worn up off the foot or down over the foot. My girlies won't wear anything else. There are always at least 6 pairs of these floating around our house. The start out pink and end up kind of grayish flesh toned.
Look, they're like underpants!!!
On to the amazing pic of Bitty. You can't see her all too well, but she is making a face that I love. She makes it often and it is a very grown up face for a 7 year old. Let me see if I can find another.
That one down below is pretty close. It's the first day at school. New school that is, it's an important distinction. My girls are so amazingly good at starting new schools. They get lots of practice. We are hoping this is it though. We'd like to just stick with this one from here on out.
The school library is putting on the school pumpkin decorating contest this year. We are not allowed to carve and the pumpkins must be based on a story character. Bug did the one on the right, Despereaux from the Tale of Despereaux that she and I are reading together right now. He's a wonderful little mouse who doesn't let the fact that he is a mouse get in his way. The one in the middle was done by Bitty. It's Knuffle Bunny. You knew she would do a rabbit didn't you? I have been volunteering one or two days a week in the library so I was invited to make a pumpkin as well. I decided to do the one on the left, Ladybug Girl. She is wearing a tutu and you can't see her ladybug wings but she has them. I'll take them in to the library tomorrow. I hope everyone will like them.
Ok, now that I am slightly caught up maybe I can start posting a touch more regularly. I know some Nana who would like that.
