For her birthday, Bug asked for... A rainbow macaw, a scorpion, an iguana, a bunny, a hedgehog, and a salt water aquarium. You've already seen that they got a kitten instead. I'm just not sure we have the time required to care for all of those other creatures right now (and cost, do you know what a macaw costs?) Upon hearing of all these animals requested by the sister Bug, Bitty suggested we get her an ant farm. Hmmm, ants, just what everyone wants in their home, isn't that why we have a regular exterminator?
What is a mommy to do? When a little sister says she wants to buy a big sister some bugs, and her nick name is Bug after all, you go out and buy a Nasa designed ant farm.
This is Bug's farm shortly after the arrival of 28 Harvester Ants. Oh my goodness is she having a wonderful time with them. I have to admit I am enthralled as well. Here they are again 24 hours later.
They've made several more tunnels to the surface since last night when that picture was taken.
Things have been crazy at our house with back to school, birthdays, an anniversary trip to NYC, etc. I have been doing a little crafting though.
This is a pair of jeans for Bit that I am hand embroidering. Actually this pair is finished I just haven't taken final photos to show you this flower and the initial on the other leg. I have also started stitching a lizard on the knee of a pair of jeans for Bug. Someone remind me to take pics of that for you too, K thanks.
